Ready, Steady……

April 20, 2010

You will now be at the final stages of your preparations and reaching the peak of athletic fitness, ready to run like the wind, or walk like our silver medalist Olive Loughnane! …….Or maybe you have a bit to go.

The entry forms are still flying in as people are getting their running shoes on for the good weather.

The response from the people of Drogheda has been fantastic and it looks like the event could have a permanent fixture in the local sporting calendar. Local businesses have put their shoulder to the wheel and have assisted in many ways with sponsorship or work. This is greatly appreciated. The success of this event is very much dependent on everyone’s support.

Thank you to all the participants who have entered. Your entry money is sponsorship – 100% of which will be going directly to GOAL – the humanatarian aid organisation, who are doing legendary work on the coalface throughout the world.

Laura Armada Buch is on a mission to get Drogheda fit. A Catalan from Barcelona, she moved to Drogheda in 1998. She came to Ireland to work as a translator, but soon abandoned this profession for the sweat and pain of fitness training.
